 Nanday Conure

 

Physical Description

The coloring on a Nanday is quite pretty, especially when out in the sunlight. Their heads have a black "cap" and they have a black beak. The throat and upper breast is a very pretty  faded light blue, the  flight feathers are bluish green. They have some very bright red feathers on their thighs.  Their colors are not quiet as pronounced on a young bird as on a one year old adult.

Trainability

Nandays are very intelligent and learn tricks very easily.  They are very easy to train. This species is often used in bird shows because of their high level of intelligence.  They become extremely attached to their owners, are very playful and love to bathe.  Although each Nanday differs they can be quite noisy, they often learn to talk very well though.  They love toys, give them plenty
